Saint Andrew's Society of Connecticut Highland Games

The weather was cold, windy and raining but Carleton “Cleve” Cleveland and Don Whamond Jr. were determined to attend and set the SAS tent outside...this was encouraged by a rumor that we had ‘chickened out’ when we pulled out the Long Island Games on the heels of “Irene”….for the record, that decision was made as a safety precaution, not out of fear !!!

The crowds were light but the games went on “rain or shine” with many stopping by our tent out of curiosity if nothing else…we were the ONLY tent sent up outside..all the others were undercover in the massive barn on the property.

Seeing SAS member Ken Donnelly, was most welcome ..especially since he brought his claymore and was ready to use it in our defense.
